The Body-Loving Green Juice You’ll See On The Runway This Year

Green juice? On the runway? Oh yes. Look closely, you’ll see it.

Most of our favorite girls are drinking it green lately. And we’re doing everything we can to celebrate it! It’s about time eating healthfully became a major trend in the fashion world (read more about the trend here and here.)

We’ve been getting our sweat on
with the trainer who’s whipping half the bodies you’ll see on the runway this fall into top shape. Justin Gelband along with bonberi‘s Vanessa Packer has been showing us the ropes from their NYC fitness hotspot, modelFIT.

As NYFW hits full swing this week, we’re more inspired than ever to hit Justin’s killer routines and Vanessa’s body-loving recipes.

Drink up this fresh blend of Lacinto kale, ginger, and a slew of go-to detoxifying greens – the kind of recipe top models swear by to keep their energy up, skin glowing, and waistlines trim through one of the biggest weeks of the fashion season. Try Vanessa’s recipe out at home, then pair it with this easy move from modelFIT (which targets the inner/outer thighs, glutes, and abs) for a runway-ready bod all your own…

BONBERI’s  body-loving GREEN JUICE

Ingredients

Bunch of Lacinato Kale
1 head of Romaine lettuce
6 stalks of celery
1 inch knob of ginger
1 whole lemon
2 Fuji apples
1 cucumber

Directions

Run all ingredients through a juicer in order. Enjoy!

Justin Gelband’s 3-Step Full-Body Burn

Step One

Start with your left leg out front and right leg straight behind you.  Hold 2 or 3 pound weights and raise your arms to shoulder level, bending them at 90 degrees.

Step Two

Cross your right leg behind you and lower into a curtsey while raising your arms up about half an inch.  Although it may feel challenging, stay in the muscle and make the movements very small and controlled. Don’t swing your arms.

Step Three

Return to the starting position and bring the right knee up and arms down for a standing crunch to engage abs.  Again, the slower the motion, the more your body has to work, which creates long, lean figures.
