Don’t lethe bright pink walls fool you: this  studio means business. Imagine your favorite Pilates class, then crank it up to eleven. That’s exactly what to expect from The Studio (MDR), one of the hottest and most addicting workout on Los Angeles’ westside. In a part of town saturated with more new fitness “trends” than a fall lookbook, we’ve officially fallen head-over-heels with this unique Lagree Fitness workout, a method that merges elements of Pilates, cardio sculpting, and weight-bearing activity by utilizing the most crazy-cool piece of fit equipment we’ve ever seen: the Megaformer. Think infinite amounts of exercise variations, handles, straps, and more. This contraption is exactly what it sounds like – a classic Pilates reformer on steroids.

It takes quite the personality to not only manage the art of Megaformer-ing, but teach it to others in a way that is relatable, encouraging, and creates results that last. The Studio (MDR)’s master trainer Lindsay Hallam knows firsthand how the right cocktail of positivity and relentless pursuit can fuel change: her work on The Studio (MDR)’s Megaformers helped her not only shed fifty pounds in less than a year, it sparked a passion for helping others create lasting changes for themselves in their bodies and attitudes. Trust us when we say we could not have gotten through our inaugural class at The Studio (MDR) without Lindsay’s approachable attitude, attention to detail, and positive encouragement. Here’s what this rising fitness star has to say about her journey, in and out of the studio…

Name:

Lindsay Hallam.

Studio:

The Studio (MDR).

My specialty:

Pilates-based strength training.

Favorite class to teach:

I’m grateful for every class I get to teach. I want each class to be better than the last.

Favorite class to take:

I love any class, as long as it is led by a passionate teacher.

Moment I fell in love with fitness:

When I discovered the Megaformer at The Studio (MDR), my love affair with fitness began! As soon as I tried my first class, I knew that I found something life-changing.

When you leave my class you feel…

Empowered!

My secret weapon:

A killer playlist.

Go-to workout gear:

Nux leggings, Lululemon and Beyond Yoga tops and Chill By Will sports bras.

In my gym bag:

My iPad, computer, a LÄRABAR, water bottle and Fresh Sugar lip balm.

Favorite workout move:

I love ‘Scrambled Eggs’ because it is so full-body and dynamic. The move is done by stabilizing the body through the arms, core and legs on a moving platform against high tension at a very slow, controlled pace. When done properly, every muscle is worked!

Biggest inspiration:

My students! I get to see them push themselves beyond what they think they are capable of every single day. It is exhilarating to see someone conquer a challenge, whether it’s a small win like doing Plank To Pike for the first time or the major accomplishment of getting through a class without stopping.

When I'm not in the studio, I’m:

A hobby queen! I love trying new things. Admittedly though, one of my favorite pastimes is napping.

Favorite post-workout fuel:

Protein shake with blended homemade nutmilk, frozen banana, spinach, Sunwarrior protein and lots of ice.

Favorite way to hydrate:

Young Thai coconut.

Fave quick workout outside the studio:

I really hate to run but it’s quick and can be done anywhere, anytime so I often opt for it when I feel like ramping up my cardio.

Latest healthy obsession:

My Vitamix has been a game changer. I use it every day.

Current mantra:

“Just show up!” Sometimes that is the hardest step, but when you take that first single step, you make the commitment to be better.
